![]() | ~ Roses and Candy ~ April 24, 1989 - January 18, 2004 Rosey was a 1989, 16.1hh, JC registered thoroughbred mare. She was by Best of Both out of Rosey Rolfe by Tom Rolfe and went back to Precipitation in the fourth. Precipitation was the winner of the biggest race in England (Ascot Gold Cup) as well as other major stakes races and for 11 years was ranked in the top 20 "Best Sires" in England. He is the sire of Furioso, who was the #1 sire of winners in France from 1954 to 1961. Ten of his offspring competed at the Tokoyo Olympics. Thirty of his offspring won international events. He is probably the most influential thoroughbred in the history of the warmblood breeds. Not bad considering he never won a race, despite 21 attempts and was never shown. Furioso's son, Furioso II (#1 sire in Germany from 1979 to 1989) is Weltstern's great grandsire. Rosey won a race at Centerbury in her younger years. Rosey foaled a beautiful black appendix colt April 27, 2003 named JT's Risky Dream. She was in foal to Spencers Curly Ben for April 2004. We miss you, Rosey. |
| ~ Dewanda Win ~ February 2, 1992 - May 12, 2004 Hope was a 1992, 16hh, JC registered thoroughbred mare. She was a granddaughter of Circle Home x Bold Bidder on top and a granddaughter of Dewan x Bold Ruler on the bottom. She and Rosey used to be pasture/barn buddies and it was great having them together again. Hope's 5yo filly is racing and can also be seen on Hope's page. She had a bay colt May 12, 2004 by Spencers Curly Ben. Unfortunately they both left us that day. :( We miss you, Hope. | ![]() |
